Turnovers. Coaches hate turnovers. Too many turnovers and you lose.

Tuesday night Calhoun County made 32 turnovers - not a season high but enough - and Parkersburg Catholic rolled to a 75-36 victory over the Red Devils on senior night.

The game was close early and PCHS led only 15-10 at the end of the first quarter. But from then on it was almost all PCHS as the Crusaders pulled away en route to their 13th win in 21 games.

PCHS had three players hit in double figures as John Padden and Cole Cwynar had 14 each and Jason Williams added 12 to go with his game high eight rebounds.

Calhoun had only one player in double figures as Andrew Norman, playing his last game in front of the home crowd, had 14 points.

Justin Gerwig backed Norman with seven while Josh Cain added six. Harold McCumbers had four, Chuck Kendall three and Cai Clothier two for the 0-21 Red Devils. Gerwig also led Calhoun ion the boards with six rebounds while Norman and Cain added four each.

Catholic also won the junior varsity game with a 55-35 decision that was much closer than the final score would indicate.

Calhoun was within dingle digits of the Crusaders on several occasions with the last being in the third quarter. Calhoun trailed only by 10 - 37-27 - at the end of three but PCHS was too strong down the stretch.

Daniel Sims led Calhoun with 15 points and four rebounds.

Chuck Kendall and Cai Clothier added four apiece for the 0-19 Red Devils while Tyler Bennett, Dennis Dye and Greg Myers had three apiece. Quentin Murphy had a pair and Jordan Panarello added one. Joe Overbaugh, Anthony Richards, Stuart Fitzwater and McCumbers all played but did not score.

Calhoun will have one last chance at its first win of the regular season Friday night when it plays a doubleheader at Wahama.
