(02/18/2008)
An Orma, Calhoun man has been ordered to stay off his former employer's property after he struck his boss with his fists, according to a report filed by Roane County Magistrate Russell Goodwin.

William Seth Denmark, 56, was sentenced for an attack on Mark Gerstell, manager of Hardman's Hardware in Spencer.

Denmark pled no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge filed by Spencer Police Chief Gary Williams, for the incident that happened last June 29th.

The charge carries a maximum fine of $500 and a year in jail. Denmark was fined $300 plus $160.50 in court costs, and was not given any jail time.

In October, Denmark was charged with obstructing Deputy Justin Metheney and with disorderly conduct, related to an alleged problem that happened in a Calhoun magistrate court.
