The Grantsville Police Department would like to remind the patrons of Grantsville to please leave the handicap parking spaces available for those who have restricted mobility.

In accordance with West Virginia State Code 17C-13-6, fines for parking in a handicap zone are $200 for first offense, $300 for second offense and $500 for third and subsequent offenses, in addition to any court cost incurred.

The Grantsville Police Department is proud to announce the beginning of its new house watch program available to residents.

If you are leaving town and would like us to keep a close look on your residence, come by the office during normal business hours or have an officer come to your home.

We ask that you fill out a short informational sheet including phone numbers where you may be contacted in the event of an emergency. A log will be kept of every check made of your residence.

As always, if our department can be of assistance, please contact us at 354-6400 or 354-9271.
