Orda Mae Offutt, 93 - Creston, Ohio

Orda Mae Offutt, 93, of Creston, Ohio died Sunday evening, February 10, 2008 at Smithville-Western Care Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

Orda was born November 24, 1914 in Calhoun County, West Virginia the daughter of the late Okey and Myrtle (Jarvis) Conley. She married Robert Offutt on April 15, 1938. He died April 30, 1980. She had made her home in Creston for the past 50 years and had retired from Nabisco Brands in Seville. She was a member of the former Enterprise Baptist Church in Rittman and had enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was dedicated to her family, neighbors and friends and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are 6 children, Dave (Janet) Offutt of Stoutsville, OH, Darrell (Kathy) Offutt of Brunswick, OH, Charlene Amick of Brick, NJ, Jean Harrold of Dunbar, WV, Roberta (Bill) Wilson of Big Springs, WV and Opal "Toots" (John) Thompson of Wooster, OH; a grandson whom she raised John Miller of Creston; 2 special children, Taylor and Lexie; 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Carsie Conley of Chloe, WV; a sister Oleta Yentz of Wadsworth, OH and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sons, Charles, Garrett and Carroll; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 4 brothers Ray, Harley, John and Claret and 2 sisters Emil Coen and Mildred Lewis.
