She was the former Betty L. King a native of Calhoun County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Lee and Edith Reip King Nelson. She was a retired employee for the Rite-Aid Co.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John D. Howell; two daughters, Leslie Houck (John) and Susan Hopkins; and grandchildren, Amanda Woolley and Jonathan Houck.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 12 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
