CLARKSBURG VA HOSPITAL GETS $3.2 MIL FOR IMPROVEMENTS

(02/08/2008)
Congressman Alan B. Mollohan said Thursday the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg will receive $3.2 million through the Department of Veterans Affairs for key facility improvements as a result of his work on the House Appropriations Committee.

Mollohan, a senior member of the Committee, said he worked to include the Clarksburg funding in the Fiscal Year 2008 Omnibus Appropriations Act that was signed into law in December.

He said the funding will allow the Medical Center to renovate and relocate the present Medical Surgical Unit to the 3rd Floor from its present location on the 4th floor.

"The project will result in improved continuity of care, improved patient privacy, expanded cardiac monitoring capabilities and improved flow of care provided to the veterans who receive treatment at the facility," said Mollohan.
