South Harrison shot and made a lot of fouls down the stretch to pull away from Calhoun 49-37 Monday night.

The Hawks led by five points heading into the fourth quarter and Calhoun cut that lead to three before things fell apart as Calhoun lost players to fouls.

The Hawks, now 5-10, had only one player in double figures as Craig Chipps scored 11.

Calhoun, now 0-17, was led by Josh DeWeese with 16 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Andrew Norman backed DeWeese with eight points and nine rebounds while Harold McCumbers chipped in with four points and five rebounds. Chuck Kendall and Josh Cain also had four points while Justin Gerwig added one. Anthony Richards and Tyler Bennett both played but did not score.

South Harrison also won the junior varsity game by a 56-13 score.

Daniel Sims, Dennis Dye and Bennett had three each while Stuart Fitzwater and Cai Clothier added two each for the 0-14 Red Devils.

Calhoun returns to action tonight (Tuesday) with a doubleheader at Doddridge
