FIFTEEN RETIREMENTS APPROVED BY BOARD - Lay Coach And Volunteer Policies Out For Comment

The Calhoun Board of Education approved fifteen retirement requests last night, including administrators, teachers and service personnel.

Two county administrators are retiring in June, Donald S. Pitts and Susan Carper.

Teachers retiring, Larry D. Harris, Jan K. Jarrell, Patricia A. Propst, Kathreen L. Wood, Debra Talbott Cunningham and Beverly Morford.

Service personnel retiring, Nancy J. Taylor, Janet S. Cunningham, Lester K. Channell and Joann Dawson.

Retiring from the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, James Pierce, Kenneth Townsend and Deborah Henderson.

The board voted to put out for two week comment a new policy related to school volunteers.

Also a draft report was approved that affects the use of lay coaches.

The board also accepted the resignation of Ansel Payne, science teacher, and Brandi Richards, asst. girl's basketball coach.

Sherry Butt and Norma Randall-Myers, hired as Heads-Up instructors.

Marsha Collins was hired and a substitute custodian and and Norman Workman was hired as a substitute teacher.

Transportation requests approved for Heads-Up to Idewild Park and transpiration for Faye Chambers to WVU Honor Band.

The next board meeting is scheduled for February 18, a special meeting at Calhoun Middle-High School.
