Geneva Edith Badgett, 84 - Nobe

Geneva Edith Badgett, 84, of Nobe, West Virginia, departed this life on January 25, 2008, at home, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born December 17, 1923 at Minnora, WV, the daughter of the late Calvin Spencer and Grace (Bailey) Jarvis. She was a member of the Milo Church. She was an avid gardener and quilter, and loved to do needlework.

Surviving are six sons, Ronald (Myrtle) Badgett of Leatherbark, WV, Kenith (Linda) Badgett of Orma, WV, Shirly (Kathy) Badgett of Big Springs, WV, Charter Bee (Karen) of Chloe, WV, Charles (Donna) Badgett of Chloe, and Danny Badgett of Nobe; 4 sisters, Rilma Chandler of SC, Nell DeWeese of Spencer, WV, Bonnie Ellison of Orma, and Madeline Hardway of Cheylan, WV; 4 brothers, Carl and Gary Jarvis of Orma, and Bill and Charter Jarvis of Chloe; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charter Badgett in 1982; 3 brothers, Cecil, Paris Bruce and Curt Jarvis; 4 sisters, Winna Mae Jarvis, Dessie Jett, Olive Grace Deweese, and Maysel Badgett Stalnaker.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 28 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Reverends Carroll McCauley and Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Clark Jarvis Cemetery at Chloe.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
