It was the great Pinewood Derby Thursday evening.

Members of Calhoun's Cub Scout Troop 436 raced their miniature cars at Grantsville's First Baptist Church, with three finalists being selected.

First place, Eli Stump, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Stump; second place, Evan Cunningham son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Cunningham and third place, Michael Fulks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fulks.

Scoutmaster Paul Funk said the local troop has doubled in number, lending a lot of extra energy to the troop.

The scouts will participate in a regional Pinewood Derby in Parkersburg.

The scouts also enjoyed a pizza dinner with their parents.
