Florence Irene Rogers, 76 - Grantsville

Florence Irene Rogers, 76, of Grantsville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 20, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.

She was born December 17, 1931 at Big Run, Calhoun County. She was the daughter of the late Nellie Sampson. Florence was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil C. Rogers, January 2, 1995; one daughter, Deloris J. Rogers, December 5, 2007; and three brothers.

Florence attended Five Forks Community Church. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, dedicated mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Virginia Bower of Davisville, WV, Ruby Harkness of Parkersburg, Pamela Garrett of Mt. Zion, WV, and Jo Ann Rogers of Grantsville; sons, Darrell Rogers of North Benton, Ohio, Delmas Rogers of Big Springs, WV, and Frankie Rogers of Grantsville; brothers and sister, Delmer Sampson, George Sampson, and Wanetta Rogers all of Massillon, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; her special grand-pets, Midnight and Precious, and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
