Ronzel L. Hunt, 72, of Elizabeth

Ronzel L. Hunt, 72, of Elizabeth passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was the son of the late Herbert and Goldie Anderson Hunt.

He was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Calhoun County. He retired after 39 years of service from Johns-Manville in June 1998. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish and work in his flowers and garden. He loved spending time with his loving family. He followed Wirt Youth Football all through his children and grandchildren's school years until his health prevented.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Patsy Jean Chedester Hunt; daughters, Tina (Dave) Jarrett of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Talina (Gordy) Linville of Elizabeth; two sons, Ronnie (Lynette) Hunt of Palestine and John Hunt of Elizabeth; two brothers, Bobby (Sharon) Hunt of Idaho, and Emerson (Betty Jo) of New Mexico; two sisters, Ginny (Elmer) Woodring of Parkersburg and Loretta (Paul) Knapp of Spencer; five grandchildren, Lisa Adams, Matthew Hunt and Lydsay Hunt of Palestine, Joshua Shrader and Jake Linville, all of Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Cora, Andrew and Cameron Adams of Palestine; two sisters-in-law, Zelma (Butch) Mason and Machelle (Mark) Gappa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by two brothers, General and Leo Hunt.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Matheny Whited Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
