IMPORTANT NOTICE: CALHOUN CITIZENS ELIGIBLE FOR HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION

RELEASE: Calhoun County Assessor Senior citizens now receiving the Homestead Exemption through the Calhoun County Assessor's Office will be receiving a letter from the State Tax Department for additional homestead benefits. The State has increased homestead benefits by $10,000 for qualifying individuals, but they are NOT automatic. When you receive the form you should fill it out and send it back. If you qualify, you will get money back either by check or as a credit to state taxes you owe. If you need help, you may bring your form into the Calhoun Assessor's office where the staff will help you fill it out.
