TODD SMITH INCARCERATED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES - Grand Jury Indicts Seven

Grantsville resident Christopher Todd Smith, 37, was arrested yesterday following an indictment by a Calhoun Grand Jury, and is incarcerated in Central Regional Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

Smith (left) has been charged with the possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a conspiracy count related to that charge, in addition to a charge of misuse of assets of an elderly person.

Smith was initially arrested by the Grantsville Police Department, who discovered he possessed a considerable amount of marijuana. Officers also charged Smith with shooting a pellet gun at a Charleston Gazette newspaper carrier.

ADDITIONAL INDICTMENTS

- Howard "Sonny" Lowers, felony charge on sexual assault in the second degree, one count of entering without breaking, presented by Cpl. Doug Starcher.

- Jimmy Lee Sandy, two counts of burglary, conspiracy count related to the same charge, brought by Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt.

- William Vandal, Jr. - One count of petit larceny, 2nd, and one conspiracy count related to the same charge, brought by Deputy Justin Metheney.

- Michael Duncan - One count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of uttering, brought by Grantsville Police Department.

- Danny Walker - Four counts of uttering, four counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and one count of conspiracy related to the latter charge, brought by Grantsville Police Department.

- Barbara Jo Walker - One count of conspiracy to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, brought by Grantsville Police Department.
