FORMER CHIEF SENTENCED 3-15 YEARS

(01/04/2008)
Former Grantsville Police Chief Ronald A. Gordon, Sr., 57, was sentenced yesterday in Grantsville on three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, after pleading guilty to the offenses.

Gordon had entered into a plea agreement with the state.

Gordon, who was being held in Central Regional Jail after his bond was revoked, likely for financial reasons, stood before Judge David W. Nibert to receive his sentence.

Gordon was sentenced 1-5 years on three separate offenses of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

The order said "for an indeterminate period of not less than one year nor more than five years for (each) offense." All sentences will run consecutively.

A few months of Gordon's home confinement could be used as time served.

Gordon was charged with the sexual abuse of several women, most of which he had charge of as a police officer or home confinement officer.
