PHE STUDENTS HAVE CROSS-GRADE READING LESSON

Submitted by Lori Parsons Pleasant Hill Elementary students enjoyed a cross-grade reading and language arts lesson prior to the Christmas Break. Students were broken down into groups of three or four children of first and fourth graders. Fourth grade students read several classic children's Christmas stories to the first graders. The first grade students also chose a few stories of their own to read to the fourth graders. The first grade students loved the individual attention given to them by the fourth graders as they read their story and asked questions about it. The fourth graders appeared to be having a great time as well listening to the stories the first graders had picked out to read to them. It was a modern day scene of one room school houses of the past.
