Firemen use water from tankers to extinguish Norman Ridge blaze

Fire completely destroyed two vacant mobile homes tonight on Norman Ridge.

The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department dispatched three units shortly after 10 p.m.

The adjacent mobile homes, owned by Gordon Brooks, were totaled when firemen arrived.

Authorities were looking for a 19-year-old male who sometimes frequented the structures.

Fire Chief Craig Gherke said there was no particular reason to believe he was in the burning structures, but neighbors said they could not account for his presence.

Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt was investigating the situation at midnight.
