Darrell Welch was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital where he was listed as under evaluation Thursday evening.

THIRD TIME ROBBERY - For the third time this month, a man walked into the Stollings Quick Stop and demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier refused and the man pulled out a knife and tried to open the cash drawer himself.

When the suspect couldn't get the drawer open, the cashier says he took off.

The owner says there is now armed security at the store everyday from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening.

MORE SHOOTINGS FROM CARS - Charleston Police are investigating a shooting on the city's west side yesterday.

An eyewitness told police he saw a man shoot out of the passenger side of a car at someone running through an alley.

The suspects and victim both left the scene. The shooter was in an older model white Crown Victoria.

ROBBER GETS BIG SURPRISE - The tables were turned on a Logan County man accused of robbery when his victim fought back.

Police arrested David Spears after he robbed two people using a machete.

Spears got away with at least $250 in cash from the victims.

Spears had some head injuries when they caught him, caused by one of his victims who fought back after they were robbed.

Spears is in the Southwestern Regional Jail.

His mug shot shows him with his head bandaged- just enough for his face, mouth and nose to show.
