CHRISTMAS EVE FRACAS AT GRANTSVILLE FOODLAND

A fight that started in Grantsville's Foodland Christmas evening, ended in the store's parking lot with punches being thrown, according to Grantsville Police Chief Charles Stephens. Mark Anthony Romagna, 39, of Grantsville Manor, was arrested for battery and domestic battery, and is currently incarcerated in Central Regional Jail. Grantsville Police received a call from Foodland employees, saying there was a physical altercation taking place. Chief Stephens, in the police report, said Romagna encountered Matthew Collins with his former girlfriend, Sarah Call, inside the store. Collins and Call were in the check-out line when the confrontation began, said police, Call reported that someone "hit her in the back and pushed her out of the way." Call told the officer she saw Romagna lunge at Collins, commencing to punch him. Stephens' report said the men fought into the parking lot, knocking down a newspaper stand. The fight was broken-up in the parking lot. Witnesses gave statements to the officer.
