Aileen R. Cunningham, 87 - Grantsville

Aileen R. Cunningham, 87, of Grantsville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2007.

She was born in Rackett, Ritchie County on February 1, 1920 to the late Harry and Flossie Smart Mathers.

Aileen married her sweetheart Jennings R. "Hap" Cunningham of Big Springs and they had four children.

She was a happy homemaker, who loved to cook for her family and enjoyed rocking her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was an avid reader and crafter, making many beautiful handcrafted ceramic items for her loved ones.

Aileen was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and making food for every event needed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hap; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, H.J Patrick (Caroline), Lois (Loyal) Roberts all of Parkersburg, Sheila (Larry) Heiney of Grantsville, and Pam Yoak of Green, Ohio; nine grandchildren Twila Roberts and Reba (Jim) Marshall all of Florida, Lori (Dan) Fullen of Charleston, Kristin (Greg) Cottrell of Arnoldsburg, Mike (Brenda) Cunningham of Bellville, Shannon (Stefan) Zakaib of Charleston, Melody (Michael) Matasich of Medina, Ohio, Matthew (Erica) Heiney of Grantsville, and Dustin (April) Yoak of Green, Ohio; and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Herman Mathers of Middlebourne, and one sister, Carol (Alfred) Jones of Pennsboro, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Reverends Carroll McCauley and John Vannoy officiating. Calling hours are from 12:30 p.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Big Springs Cemetery.
