MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS START BASKETBALL SEASON 2-1

Calhoun Middle School Girls Basketball team started their season on December 4th by defeating Walton 16-13.

The game ended with 2:59 seconds left in the third quarter with Walton forfeiting.

Kenzie Laughlin led the way with 6 points, Savannah Church and Rochelle Gerwig added 3 each, Amber Wilford had 2, and with 1 point each by Tangie Cain and Brittany Miller.

The CMS B-team was defeated by Walton 32-7, with Carlena Craddock providing all 7 points.

On December 10, CMS went on the road and defeated Doddridge County 36-32.

Leading the balanced attack was Amber Wilford with 13 points, Savannah Church with 12, Rochelle Gerwig added 9, and Brittany Miller contributing 2.

CMS B-team was defeated 38-3, Shayla Arnold with all 3 points.

Tuesday, CMS came back home to host Braxton County in a barn burner that went down to the end.

In a hard played game on both ends, CMS came out on the losing end of this one with a score of 29-27.

Leading the way was Savannah Church with 12 points, Amber Wilford 7, Brittany Miller 5, Tangie Cain 2, and Kenzie Laughlin added 1.

CMS B-team was defeated 70-5, Carlena Craddock had all 5 points.

CMS Girls next 6 games are away, starting with Richie County on Friday night, and traveling to Walton on Monday.
