Freda V. Curry, 97 - Spencer

Freda V. Curry, 97, of Spencer, died Monday, December 10, 2007, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

She was born October 7, 1910, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Albert E. and Anna Richards Griffith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edward Curry; one daughter, Linda Lou Carpenter; one grandson; two brothers and three sisters.

Freda was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Sandyville United Methodist Church, Sandyville. Also, she was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Women's Unit.

Survivors include one son, Joe Curry of Sandyville; two daughters, Mary Ann Drake of Spencer and Kathryn C. "Kitty" Walters of Ripley; one brother, James Griffith of Parkersburg; one sister, Faye Hoselton of Belpre, OH; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Women's Unit, c/o Polly Miller, Treasurer, P.O. Box 43, Sandyville, WV 25275.
