THREE CALHOUN VOTING PLACES CHANGED TO BENEFIT VOTERS

(12/11/2007)
Problems related to access and inconvenience to poll workers and voters were resolved yesterday by the Calhoun Commission with changes approved for three polling places.

Voters who have used the old gymnasium at the Minnora School will now go to the Upper West Fork Park.

Resident Glenna Perkins told commissioners the Minnora building had problems with heating and lighting, in addition to access.

Both the Minnora and Orma precincts who used that location will now go to the park.

The commission also moved the polling precinct from the Calhoun Park barn to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department.

County Clerk Richard Kirby said the changes are being made solely to benefit poll workers and the voters.
