WHEELING CENTRAL BEATS WILLIAMSTOWN 54-14 FOR CLASS A TITLE

Alex Peluchette threw for three touchdowns to lead Wheeling Central to a 51-14 win over Williamstown in the Class A football championship today.

The win gave Wheeling Central its fourth straight title and fifth in six seasons.

Peluchette enjoyed a record-setting day against Williamstown. His 73-yard scoring pass to De'Vaugn Gordon in the first quarter was the longest ever in the Class A title game.

And his three touchdown passes also set a title-game record.

Wheeling Central also got a big performance from Chris Martin. He rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns.

Ben Williamson led Williamstown on the ground with 55 yards on 17 carries.
