CALHOUN DEER KILL UP 3% FOR FIRST WEEK

The first week deer kill figures issued by the DNR in Parkersburg for District VI for the first week of the 2007 season. The kill includes both bucks and does. After a rousing start, the kill for the district is down 13% for the district. Calhoun 1394(2007) 1349(2006 up 3% Doddridge 1038(2007)1249(2006) dn 17% Gilmer 1464(2007)1385(2006) up 6% Jackson 2833(2007) 2668 (2006) up 6% Pleasants 381(2007) 475(2006) dn 20% Ritchie 1717(2007) 2567(2006) dn 33% Roane 1992(2007) 2189(2006) dn 9% Tyler 1509(2007) 1695(2006) dn 11% Wirt 901(2007) 1082(2006) dn 17% The total 2007 district kill is 15,685, down from 17,964 in 2006 - a 13% decline.
