FORMER CALHOUNER SEVERELY INJURED IN TREE STAND FALL

Former Calhouner Andy Molessa, 61, of Wood County, was critically injured Monday evening when he fell a number of feet from a tree stand while deer hunting in Ohio.

Family members say he suffered a broken neck, among other injuries.

Molessa was taken to Columbus Ohio where he is undergoing several procedures today, including surgery for a broken shoulder.

Molessa, a longtime Calhoun resident and former Board of Education member, graduated from Calhoun High, where be played football, and worked at DuPont until his retirement.

He has been married to the former Joanne Kelley of Calhoun. They have two children, Todd of Pullman and Andrea Kisner of Beckley.

Molessa grew up on Beech with the late John and Fannie Ellison.

Acquaintances are requesting local churches place Andy Molessa on their prayer chains.
