TWO SHOT ON HUNTINGTON STREET - Two men were shot early Sunday morning in Huntington. Police responded to a shooting call in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue around 3:30 a.m.

When officers arrived on scene, two black men had already been taken to a local hospital by people at the scene.

Huntington police detectives identified the victims as James Tubbs, 35 and Leon McReynolds, 34, both of Huntington.

Officers arrested Harold Porter, 26, of Huntington shortly after the shooting. Police found an AR-15 assault rifle in Porter's possession.

Porter is charged with two counts of malicious wounding and possession of a concealed deadly weapon and is being held in the Western Regional jail in Barboursville.

WAYNE MAN KILLED BY SON - Melvin Elkins was shot and killed in Wayne County Sunday afternoon. They say Elkins' son shot him.

The shooting happened on Lost Creek Road, a community just south of Fort Gay near Tolsia High School. Wayne County 911 received calls shortly after 1:30 p.m. from neighbors who heard gunshots.

The West Virginia State Police is investigating the shooting.

JOLO DRIVE-BY SHOOTING - Police are looking for a man they say was involved in a drive-by shooting in McDowell County. Police are searching for 28-year-old Jerry Johnson of Jolo.

Officials say Thanksgiving night, Johnson fired a shot from his car and hit a by-stander in the S-and-M Market parking lot in Jolo.

The victim has survived the shooting, having been shot in his lower back.
