ROANE MAN FOURTH DEER HUNT FATALITY

Deer checking stations in Calhoun say the buck kill is up during the first three days of the season. Four people have died during this year's season, according to the WV DNR. A 57-year-old man from Charleston died of an apparent heart attack while hunting in Roane County Tuesday evening. The DNR says Roger Whiting was hunting near Blown Timber Road in Newton. 59-year-old Robert Douglas Criswell of Martinsburg died of an apparent heart attack while hunting in Hampshire County on Monday. 69-year-old John Myers, of Westernport, Md., fell from a 25-foot tree stand while deer hunting in Preston County. Ferrill Hall, a 68-year-old hunter from Orrville, Ohio, suffered a fatal heart attack after shooting a buck on Sear's Run in Calhoun County. Three men received burns in Wirt County when their camp exploded from a propane leak. About 320,000 hunters are expected to participate in this years hunt.
