Wilson house was fully involved before firemen arrived

Fire completely destroyed the Albert Wilson, Jr. home at Annamoriah early today.

The fire spread rapidly through the dwelling, the structure was fully involved before the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department arrived.

Wilson's wife Ann was in the house shortly after midnight, indicating it was likely started when a cat spilled a lit oil lamp. She said two of her cats and a pet bird likely perished in the fire, although the family dogs were safe.

Tanker shuttled water to douse blaze

Albert Wilson, Jr. is in a Charleston hospital, where he was taken Monday.

The GVFD dispatched three units to the blaze and shuttled water from a hydrant at the Army Reserve Center.
