(11/20/2007)
Ferrill Hall, a 68-year-old hunter from Orrville, Ohio, suffered a fatal heart attack Monday morning after shooting a buck on Sear's Run, a short distance from Minnora, Rt. 16.

Calhoun EMS and the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, but was unable to revive Hall, who collapsed in a wooded area.

He reportedly had shot a six-point buck and was attempting to retrieve it.

Hall's body is being returned to Orrville for a funeral service.

The West Virginia DNR says 69-year-old John Myers, of Westernport, Maryland, fell from a 25-foot tree stand Monday morning in Preston County.

DNR said two companions found his body after hearing him fire a shot that hit its mark.

A hunting camp explosion sent three Wirt County hunters to the hospital early Monday.

All received burns and were life-flighted to regional hospitals.

State Fire Marshal Brad Hartley says a flash fire explosion was caused by a propane leak near a small camper.

A Wirt VFD spokesperson said one of the men was attempting to light a stove for morning coffee, causing the flash explosion which knocked off part of the roof.

The incident happened on Windy Ridge Road near Rockport.

Hartley says all three men suffered second degree burns to their bodies.

Their names and conditions have not been released.
