CASE AGAINST FORMER CHIEF DEPUTY BANDY IS DROPPED

(11/13/2007)
A criminal case against former Calhoun Chief Deputy Ron Bandy was dismissed this morning by Judge Thomas Evans III in Grantsville.

Bandy had been charged with taking items from an elderly Calhoun couple's house after they had been placed in a nursing home.

The request for dismissal was brought by special prosecutor Gerry Hough, saying there was insufficient evidence to indicate a crime had been committed, and that the state could not prove criminal intent.
