A former Calhoun woman is dead after her car plunged into Steer Creek near Rosedale yesterday morning. Rosalie Marks Bennett, 51, of Rosedale died on her way to work at Braxton County Memorial Hospital about 7 a.m.

A witness saw her vehicle leave the road, according to a family spokesperson. "Her body was found about 50 feet downstream from the auto," they said. The cause of death is to be determined.

Ms. Bennett is the wife of Rev. Larry Bennett of Rosedale, a Braxton County school bus driver. She is the daughter of well-known Nicut clogger and senior citizen Lucy Marks and a sister to the Rev. Carl Marks of Arnoldsburg. She is also survived by a son and daughter and several other brothers, sisters and relatives. Obituary will follow.
