Kids play street games The 6th Annual Wirt County Pioneer Day will be celebrated October 4 in Elizabeth. The Elizabeth Beauchamp Chapter Daughters of American Pioneers invites everyone to join the fun-filled activities and experience the hospitality of Wirt Countians as they take pride in recreating their heritage. Vendor and exhibitor booths will line Elizabeth's Court House square. There will be demonstrations of pioneer living, good eats, interesting handmade items and games and activities for children. Visitors can tour the Beauchamp-Newman Museum and the Little Kanawha Hotel, two of the area's historic sites.
