Lady Red Devils Varsity defeat Gilmer County

The CHS Lady Red Devils defeated Gilmer County Monday night in straight game 25-16, 25-12, 25-16 during Senior Night at Mt. Zion.

Scoring: Jocelynn Cunningham 19 pts, 5 aces; Kayla Hixon 8 pts. 2 aces; Tessa Batten 6 pts, 1 ace; Caytee Prusack 4 pts, 3 aces; Arla Lane 4 pts, 1 ace; Amy Ashley 1 pt. Jocelynn Cunningham was 62/80 setting with 22 assists. From the attack line: Tessa Batten was 15/19 with 9 kills; Arla Lane was 20/24 with 6 kills; Caytee Prusack was 13/17 with 5 kills; Kayla Hixon was 8/9 with 1 kill; Melissa Jarvis was 3/5, 1 kill. With the win, the varsity record improves to 8-3.

Lady Red Devils Junior Varsity defeats Gilmer County

The Junior Varsity also defeated Gilmer in straight games 25-12, 26-24.

Scoring: Hannah Wilson 16 pts, 6 aces; Kelsey Collins 7 pts. 1 ace; Kayla Wilson 2 pts, Shauna Church 2 pts, 1 ace; Karissa Reip 2 pts. Hannah Wilson was 24-31 setting with 1 assist. From the attack line Shauna Church was 4/5 with 1 kill; Kayla Wilson was 5/9, Karissa Reip 3/5, Kelsey Collins was 2/3 and Michelle Hall was 5/8. With the win the JV record improves to 3-5.

Calhoun is on the road Tuesday at Williamstown and Thursday at Wirt.
