Calhoun native Richard Westfall is the new Community Services Manager for the Department of Health and Human Resources in the Calhoun, Gilmer, and Wirt District.

"I'm very excited about working in my home community," Westfall said.

Westfall has lived in the county all his life, and comes to his new position after working for WORKFORCE WV in Charleston. He has worked for state government for 28 years.

He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1974 and cum laude from Glenville State College in 1977.

He is an ordained Baptist minister and pastor of two churches, the Hardman Fork Baptist Church at Letter Gap and the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at Normantown.

Westfall considers himself to be a "serious amateur photographer."

Westfall has been married to wife Betty for 28 years. She is a teacher at Calhoun Middle School. They have one son, Derek, who works as a salesman at Midstate Chevrolet in Flatwoods and his wife Miranda is a manager at Wendys in Flatwoods. They have a granddaughter, Madison, who is two years old.
