(09/28/2007)
Grantsville's Town Council voted to allow a goat to perform its' services in the town, at least until November.

The town minutes say Sabrina and Freddie Kirby, who live on Hathaway Street, requested permission in August to use a goat to eat brush from their backyard.

Councilwoman Teresa Cain moved to deny the request, with a second by Helen Jordan.

After discussion Mayor Gary Knight called for a vote, resulting in a two for, two against vote.

Mayor Knight, according to the minutes, having the tie-breaking vote, cast in favor of allowing the Kirbys the use of a goat until November, at which time a new request will be required.
