Calhoun's award-winning fiddler Jake Krack and the Whoopin' Hollar String Band appeared at the CHS auditorium last night in a Concert for America, with all proceeds going to help the victims of the World Trade Center disaster.

Krack said he was a little nervous, since this was the first event he helped organize, usually being the performer.

The harmonious voices of "The McBrides" impressed the audience with a real spellbinding performance. Danielle McBride also offered a solo. Nikki Church gave an excellent solo performance.

Appearing with Jake Krack was mom, Dara Krack, banjo picker Ben Carr of Braxton County and mandolin player Bob Cain of Gilmer County.
