Briana shows "mild" excitment about the good news ...

It's quite an honor for a Calhoun girl.

Every year four students from each state are chosen to play in the Macy's Great American Marching Band for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year Calhoun High's Briana Blankenship was chosen to play in the band, widely televised around the world.

Briana will leave the Saturday before Thanksgiving to practice for a week with the band.

She has been an award-winning musician throughout her high school career at Calhoun.
