ANNUAL CANCER SURVIVOR DINNER THURSDAY

(09/28/2007)
Submitted by Barb McKown

Women First is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual All-Cancer Survivor Dinner will be held Thursday, October 25.

The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging's Senior Center in Grantsville.

The meal will be catered by the Pleasant Hill CEOS and will include turkey, baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and dessert. A short program will follow the meal.

An open invitation is extended to all cancer survivors in Calhoun County. Each survivor is encouraged to bring a guest and come enjoy the delicious meal and camaraderie. The evening will be a celebration of life with the theme, "Light Your World with Hope."

Any individual who has just been diagnosed with cancer or is going through treatment is encouraged to attend. A survivor is any person who has been diagnosed with cancer. We believe that you begin surviving from the moment you receive your diagnosis.

The 3rd Annual All-Cancer Survivor Dinner is being sponsored by a grant from the American Cancer Society. Other partners include, Minnie Hamilton Health System, WV Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, CEOS, Red Hat Society, Northern WV Rural Health Education Center, Friends of Minnie Hamilton, volunteers and cancer survivors.

Survivors are asked to register for the dinner by calling Barb McKown at 354-9244. Please register by October 19, 2007.
