Another game, another win, another shutout …

That was exactly what happened Friday night as the Calhoun Red Devils ran their record to 3-0 with a 34-0 victory over Doddridge County in a game played at West Union.

With the shutout Calhoun has now outscored its opponents 145-0 on the season.

The Red Devils dominated the Bulldogs both offensively and defensively yet still had to settle for a couple of field goals on its first two series as junior kicker Nick Whytsell hit from 25 and 27 yards in the first period before getting their first touchdown.

That score came when Roman Rader scooped up a Bulldog fumble and scored from six yards out as the first quarter was winding down. Jeff Goodrich added the extra points.

Jeremy Conley scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 14-yard run right before the half.

Calhoun added a second Conley touchdown in the fourth quarter and a 14-yard run by Caleb Hart in the third to set the final score.

Statistically the Red Devils were even more dominant with 25 first downs (Doddridge had six) and 350 yards total offense - 250 on the ground and 100 from the passing of senior quarterback Matt Houchin.

Hart led the way on the ground for Calhoun with 114 yards on 16 carries while Goodrich added 74 on 21 attempts.

Josh DeWeese was Houchin's favorite target with four receptions for 28 yards.

With the win Calhoun goes to 3-0 heading in to Friday night's home game against Parkersburg Catholic.
