VOLLEYBALL TEAM FALLS TO ROANE

The CHS Volleyball team fell to the Roane County Lady Raiders last night at Mt. Zion.

The varsity lost in straight games 25-23, 25-21, and 25-21.

Jocelyn Cunningham led the team in service points with 13 and 2 aces; Amy Ashley had 7 points, 2 aces; Kayla Hixon 5 points, 1 ace; Arla Lane 4 points, Tessa Batten 3 points 2 aces.

Jocelynn Cunningham was 49/69 setting with 11 assists. Tessa Batten was 16/16 attacks with 5 kills; Caytee Prusack was 7/9 with 2 kills; Arla Lane was 8/11 with 3 kills; Kayla Hixon was 7/9 with 3 kills; Melissa Jarvis was 8/10 with 3 kills; Sarah Postalwait was 1/1. Digs: Kayla Hixon 3; Blocks: Arla Lane 4; Melissa Jarvis 2; Tessa Batten 3. With the loss, the varsity record falls to 2-2.

The JV jumped out to a 25-19 victory in the first game before falling 25-20, 25-20.

Kelsey Collins led the team in service points with 13. Hannah Wilson added 7 points, 1 ace; Michelle Hall 6 points, 1 ace; Shauna Church 4 points; Sarah Postalwait 1; Ashley Houchin 1 point, 1 ace; and Kayla Wilson 1 point.

Ashley Houchin was 22/34 setting with 4 assists. Sarah Postalwait was 7/8 from the attack line with 4 kills; Kelsey Collins was 4/4; Hannah Wilson 3/6; Katie Collins 2/2; Shauna Church 1/2; Kayla Wilson was 1/1 with a kill.

Calhoun entertains Parkersburg Catholic on Tuesday, September 11. JV play begins at 6:00.
