There is a saying that we should "bloom where we are planted." A few ladies at Minnie Hamilton Health System have taken this to heart.

The MHHS Long Term Unit is home to 24 residents who spend their time enjoying a variety of activities, including bingo, reading, visiting, exercise and outings. A favorite activity of the residents is spending time in the courtyard, where flowers are blooming on every corner.

Staff members, Barb Parsons, Mary Shaw and Marie Blair have taken the time to turn this ordinary yard space into a garden oasis. They have planted, watered and brought to life flowers of all varieties including petunias, mums, daisies, sunflowers and elephant ears.

The ladies have worked tirelessly to make the residents feel right at home. MHHS staff and the residents of the Long Term Care Unit would like to say a heartfelt thank you to these ladies for sharing their green thumbs with us.
