The Calhoun County Committee on Aging was recently honored to be asked to present a diploma from Calhoun County High School, dated May, 1937 to Mr. Clenton Cottrell.

Mr. Cottrell was born in Calhoun County but his young life was interrupted by the outbreak of WWII and he went off to join the military.

Clenton became a career soldier and retired from the U.S. Army with some 20 years service to our country.

The presentation was attended by Senior Center members along with his daughter and friends.

Although Clenton lives in Roane County, he still enjoys visiting with friends in Grantsville.

"Clenton has had many experiences in life and we are very happy to have had the opportunity to share this accomplishment with him," said Brenda McBride, CCCOA Assistant Director.
