WOMAN KILLS SELF IN PARK - A woman shot herself about 3 p.m. Monday in Little Creek Park near the soapbox derby track, according to South Charleston Police Chief Brad Rinehart said.

She died at the scene.

Highland Hospital, a facility that treats mental illness, had issued an alert about 11 a.m. Monday that the woman was missing.

A friend was with the woman in the park, trying to talk to her, Rinehart said.

TWO ARMED ROBBERIES - Kanawha County sheriff's deputies are investigating two armed robberies.

Sunday, two men broke into the 171 Miracle Drive apartment of Conley Priddy.

Priddy told Deputy J.R. Powell he was inside his apartment when two suspects came in through the back door armed with a pistol and demanded money.

Police said the suspects were given an undisclosed amount of money and they fled on foot. Both were wearing black ski masks, black, long-sleeved shirts, black pants and black gloves.

Saturday, St. Albans Police responded to the 7-Eleven on West Main Street and Coal River Road on a reported armed robbery.

The store clerk told police a white male with a stocky build wearing a black ski mask and long-sleeved, black shirt entered the store, brandished a pistol and demanded cash.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the store on foot.

MORGANTOWN ROBBERY AND SHOOTING - Monongalia County sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery and shooting.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Monday at the Hot Spot Lounge.

Investigators say the robber was wearing dark clothing and a face mask.

He walked in and fired a shot at the floor, the shot grazed the clerk's foot.

The man then took off with some cash.
