Clarice S. Snodgrass, 79 - Formerly of Looneyville

Clarice S. Snodgrass, 79, of Parkersburg, formerly of Looneyville, West Virginia, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at home, after an extended illness.

She was born June 27, 1928, at Amma, a daughter of the late George Washington and Gertrude S. Reed Ashley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Snodgrass; brothers, George Jr., Max, Rex, Frank, Dick, Jack and an infant; sisters, Francis, Doris, Clara and Bernice.

Clarice was a former employee of the Spencer Hospital. She was a 50 year member of the Linden Chapter #152, Order of the Eastern Star, a 1947 graduate of Spencer High School and a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church, Parkersburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Kaye Wright of Parkersburg; a son, Edward Allen Snodgrass of Blue Ridge, VA; sister, Carolyn Surface of Vienna; favorite brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Coy and Marge Snodgrass of Cottageville; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Gene Waybright officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the Linden Chapter No. 152, O.E.S. will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sunrise Baptist Church, P.O. Box 4442, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
