MAN DIES AFTER BEING CRUSHED UNDER TRAILER

A St. Marys man has died after being crushed under a mobile home Sunday near Smithville.

Nicholas M. "Nick" Brookover, 27, died shortly after the accident at the Charleston Area Medical Center from multiple trauma.

Brookover was working underneath a mobile home along Rt. 47 when it fell on him, said Smithville Volunteer Fire Department's Jim Gill.

Gill said the man was helping friends situate the mobile home.

He was transported to a HealthNet chopper by Calhoun EMS.

Brookover was born, December 17, 1979, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Richard "Digger" Brookover in Indiana and Tina Sue Stewart Johnson of Huntington, WV.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Dan Kessinger and John Keith officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
