For the picnic one should arrive at the park before 10 A. M. for services, singing and communion and the meal will be served at noon. It will be a covered dish meal and all are welcome. Keith Belt, the lay speaker from Bell Chapel, brought the message July 1 at Burning Springs.

The Creston area finally received a significant rain which made mud in the gardens but did not make streams muddy. The rain caused one local gardener's kohl rabbis to split open.

The Creston Post Office held a customer appreciation day on Friday, June 30, complete with cookies and coffee. One of the "presidential" candidates said the worldwide war on terror was just a bumper sticker slogan. One can be sure that the folks in Glasgow Scotland and London may disagree with him now. Hamas, one of the mid-east terror groups, did a new Tee Vee program showing the Israelites killing the Arab Mickey Mouse because he wouldn't sell the Promised Land to the Jews. It is clear that the terror war will go on until America and any allies that might join in decide to take decisive actions that terrorists with Stone Age mentalities will comprehend. Being nice obviously does not work at all as the terrorists see such as a sign of weakness and a lack of will.

Reflecting the $70/bbl world market price, local crude rose $1 to $65.75.

While some still go on about the so called man-made global warming scare which seems to be a scheme to raise taxes and hire more bureaucrats, the scare has now been challenged by that awful thing called facts. It seems that there are alternating ice ages and 12,000-year interglacials and it has now been 12,000 years since the last ice age ended. Also before each ice age there is a 20-year warming period with wild weather. Folks up in Canada are taking note of the facts and data and Greenland, which Albert Gore, Jr. said was melting, has recently set record low temperatures - how inconvenient.

Alvin Engelke would like for all feline lovers to know that he has several beautiful kittens that need new loving homes.

First there was Chinese toothpaste with antifreeze and now there is fake Colgate toothpaste on the market that has bacterial contaminants. It would seem that there are lots of different angles to the terror war and, for sure, there are lots of players, one of whom is the Chinese People's Liberation Army. As more of America's food supply comes from Cathay the concern for contamination and sabotage will only increase. Before that there was poison in the pet food, etc.

Not so long back the Little Elf, who is a state senator from the Mouth of the Elk, and runs a real estate business, part of which is funded big time by the taxpayers, was in Parkersburg telling of the wonders of his new government plans to eliminate counties and local government and establish new, modern governance that will give the oligarchy an iron grip forever on local residents.
