SPENCER'S JULY 4TH FIREWORKS ANNOUNCED

Many Calhouners attend the Fourth of July events in Spencer. Spencer's celebration of Independence Day will end with its traditional fireworks display launched from the hill above Wal-Mart. The fireworks will begin at approximately 10 p.m. The city pool will offer free admission on the 4th from noon until 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to pool manager Chris Atkins. Several special activities are planned at the pool including diving for coins, a water balloon toss, relay races and a tug of war. The games for different age groups will take place during breaks and prizes will be awarded. There will also be music.
