| West Virginians who are tired of confusing medical bills might be thankful for a governor who needed major knee surgery.
After undergoing surgery last year, Gov. Joe Manchin became frustrated at his inability to get a single invoice detailing the expenses of the procedure.
He then directed the West Virginia Health Care Authority to create a web site listing the costs of common medical procedures, to give patients some idea of what they'll pay when they go to the hospital.
Now, West Virginians can compare the costs of health services.
