FORMER GRANTSVILLE BUSINESSMAN TERRY BENSON HAS DIED

Former Grantsville businessman Terry Lee Benson, 60, died suddenly in Davis WV of an apparent heart attack.

A Fairmont, Minn. native, Benson came to Calhoun after purchasing the Grantsville Hotel and Restaurant.

He was politically active in Calhoun, serving as chairman of the Republican Party.

Benson then moved to Davis to create the Blackwater Brewing Company.

He retired from the US Army, after a career in military intelligence.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalinde; a son, Robert Benson; a daughter, Michaela Holcomb; five brothers; two sisters and five grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Sunday, June 24 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., at the funeral hour.

The Rev. Rick Benson and the Rev. Rob Benson will officiate.

Interment will follow on June 29 at Arlington National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
